THE FRONT LINE WARRIORS
As we all know that the world is facing an unprecedented challenge with communities and economies everywhere affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic.
The number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) updates multiple times a day, the world holds its breath, and gets worried about how to combat this notorious virus.
During this tough time there are certain heroes who stand up and fight to make lives better for the rest of us.They are the front line warriors.
There are millions of workers who are risking their lives every day on the job, saving desperately ill patients, ensuring food and medicine get to our stores and homes, and keeping the public safe.
No doubt doctors, nurses, health workers or paramedical staff, Laboratory Scientists and technicians are there to fight the outbreak on the front lines, but we should not forget so many others who are helping us through this pandemic otherwise the pandemic would be about ten timesworse.
In this crucial time, the front line soldiers have selflessly risen to battle corona virus.
Everyone in their own capacity is fulfilling their responsibility fighting Corona.
All around us we are observing people ranging from the highest govt officials to the doctors, paramedical staff to the salesgirl at the grocery store ,people who are delivering food and supplies to the hospitals, people who are picking up garbage from the hospitals and homes, the Armed Forces, rangers and police who are providing security to people, drivers of the ambulances, people working at gas stations, the bankers who are busy in people dealing , health workers caring for the elderly, youngsters working to help the poor, doing their bit at a considerable risk to themselves.
We should not forget all the staff around the world who are purifying every surface in hospitals and common areas.
They are silent and courageous people, the cleaning workers are among the categories most exposed to the risk of Covid-19 viruses, but the saddest thing is they and sometimes not respected, despite their tireless efforts to guarantee sterilised environments.
All in all if all of the front line warriors would not be there to fight against corona this would be an outright disaster.
Frontline health workers’ safety is an ongoing issue in responding to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Every day there are reports of physicians, nurses, police and emergency respondents, even bus drivers, who have died from Covid-19 after their employers failed to implement control measures to prevent exposure in the course of their work.
Because of their close proximity to the most severe cases, health workers face a dire risk of contracting the virus. The highly contagious nature of the virus is the reason one patient is able to infect at least ten health workers.
Their work has been under-appreciated and little has been done to ensure their safety.
In a way to help the front line warriors, it’s our duty and responsibility to help them by staying home because carefulness could make us win the game and if we remain careless we might lose it forever.
We should show gratitude towards those that are helping us on the front lines. From doctors, nurses ,all healthcare workers, to our police, supermarket workers, our social service workers, and so many more, be kind and thankful to them because we are all in this together.
In the interim, our frontline workforce is among our most precious assets in this fight. We cannot protect the public without protecting them. They are no doubt the country’s most valuable resource during an outbreak.
It was correctly said by the WHO’s spokesperson that, “Taking care of yourself is the most essential thing you can do in order to care for others”
