Zakhm jhele daagh bhi khaaye bahut,

Zakhm jhele daagh bhi khaaye bahut,
dil laga kar hum toh pachhtaaye bahut.

Jab na tab jagah se tum jaaya kiye,

Phool gul shams-o-qamar saare hi the,
par humen un mein tumhin bhaaye bahut.

Gar buka iss shor se shab ko hai toh,
rowenge sone ko hum-saaye bahut.

Woh jo nikla subh jaise aaftaab,
rashk se gul phool murjhaaye bahut.

‘Meer’ se poochha jo main aashiq ho tum,
ho ke kuchh chupke se sharmaaye bahut. !!
