Ye dil ye paagal dil mera

Ye dil ye paagal dil mera kyon bujh gaya aawaaragi ?
iss dasht mein ek shehar tha woh kya hua aawaaragi ?
Kal shab mujhe be’shakl si aawaaz ne chaunka diya,
maine keha tu kaun hai uss ne keha aawaaragi.
Ek tu ki sadiyon se mere humraah bhi, humraaz bhi,
ek main ki tere naam se na’aashna aawaaragi.
Ye dard ki tanhaiyaN, ye dasht ka veeraan safar,
hum log toh ukta gaye apani suna aawaaragi.
Ek ajanabi jhonke ne jab puchha mere ghum ka sabab,
sehraa ki bheegi rett par maine likha aawaaragi.
Le ab toh dasht-e shab ki saari vusaten sone lagi,
ab jaagna hoga humein kab tak bata aawaaragi.
Kal raat tanha chaand ko dekha tha maine Khwaab mein,
Mohsin’ mujhe raas aayegi shaayad sada aawaaragi. !
