Woh firaaq aur woh wisaal kahan,

Woh firaaq aur woh wisaal kahan,
woh shab-o-roz-o-maah-o-saal kahan.

Fursat-e-kaarobaar-e-shauq kise,
zauq-e-nazzaara-e jamaal kahan.

Dil toh dil woh dimaagh bhi na raha,
shor-e-sauda-e-khatt-o-khaal kahan.

Thi woh ek shakhs ke tasawwur se,
ab woh raanaayi-e-khyaal kahan.

Aisa aasaan nahin lahoo rona,
dil mein taaqat jigar mein haal kahan.

Hum se chhuta qimaar-khana e-ishq,
waan jo jaayen girah mein maal kahan.

Fikr-e-duniya mein sar khapaata hun,
main kahan aur ye wabaal kahan.

Muzmahil ho gaye qawaa ‘ghalib’
woh anaasir mein aitdaal kahan.

Bose mein woh muzaaiqa na kare,
par mujhe taaqat-e-sawaal kahan. !!
