Ke hijar ki pehli raat us pe kis qadar bhaari thi,
Ab kaun karta hoga tere lab-o-rukhsaar ki tareef,
Hamare baad uljhi huyi zulf kis ne sanwaari thi,
Tu ne apna samajh ke ik baar maangi to hoti,
Jaan ki qasam, kya jaan humain jaan se pyar thi?
Daryaa ke do kinaron ki tarah sath chale per mil na sake,
Kuch woh bhi tha ana’aa parasst, kuch baghiyaana soch hamari thi,
