اداس راتوں میں تیز کافی کی تلخیوں میں
وہ کچھ زیادہ ہی یاد آتا ہے سردیوں میں

مجھے اجازت نہیں ہے اس کو پکارنے کی
جو گونجتا ہے لہو میں سینے کی دھڑکنوں میں

وہ بچپنا جو اداس راہوں میں کھو گیا تھا
میں ڈھونڈتا ہوں اسے تمہاری شرارتوں میں

اسے دلاسے تو دے رہا ہوں مگر یہ سچ ہے
کہیں کوئی خوف بڑھ رہا ہے تسلیوں میں

تم اپنی پوروں سے جانے کیا لکھ گئے تھے جاناں
چراغ روشن ہیں اب بھی میری ہتھیلیوں میں

جو تو نہیں ہے تو یہ مکمل نہ ہو سکیں گی
تری یہی اہمیت ہے میری کہانیوں میں

مجھے یقیں ہے وہ تھام لے گا بھرم رکھے گا
یہ مان ہے تو دیے جلائے ہیں آندھیوں میں

ہر ایک موسم میں روشنی سی بکھیرتے ہیں
تمہارے غم کے چراغ میری اداسیوں میں
