Silsle torr geya woh sabhi jaate jaate,

Silsle torr geya woh sabhi jaate jaate,
Warna itne to marasim they ke aate jaate,
Shikwa-e-zulmat-e-shab se to kahin behtar tha,
Apne hisse ki koi shamma jalaate jaate,
Kitna asaan tha tere hijr main marna jaana,
Phir bhi ik umar lagi jaan se jaate jaate,
Jashn-e-maqtal hi na barpa hua warna hum bhi,
Pa-bajolaan hi sahi naachte gaate aate,
Us ki woh jaane usse paas-e-wafa tha ke na tha,
Tum Faraz apni tarf se to nibhaate jaate..
