Sheher ke dukaandaro,

Sheher ke dukaandaro,
Karobaar-e-ulfat main suud kya ziyaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan pao ge,
Dil ke daam kitne hain,
Khawb kitne mehnge hain,
Aur nakd-e-jaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan pao ge,
Koi kese mitla hai,
Phool kese khilta hai,
Ankh kese jhukti hai,
Saans kese rukti hai,
Kese raah nikalti hai,
Kese baat chalti hai,
Shauq ki zubaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan pao ge,
Shehr ke dukaandaro,
Vasl ka sukoon kya hai,
Hijr ka junoon kya hai,
Hussn ka fasoon kya hai,
Ishq ka daroon kya hai,
Tum mareez -e- danaayi,
Masslehat ke shedaayi,
Raah-e-gumrahaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan paao ge,
Shehr ke dukaandaro,
Zakhm kese phhalte hain,
Daagh kese jalte hain,
Dard kese hota hai,
Koi kese rota hai,
Ashq kya hai naalay kya,
Dasht kya hai chhaalay kya,
Aah kya fughaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan pao ge,
Na-muraad dil kese subah shaam karte hain,
Kese zinda rehte hain aur kese marte hain,
Tum ko kab nazar aayi, ghamzadon ki tanhayi,
Zeest be-amaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan pao ge,
Jaanta hoon main tum ko Zauq-e-shayari bhi hai,
Shakhsiyat sajaane main ik yeh maahri bhi hai,
Phir bhi harf chuntey ho,
Sirf lafzz Sunte ho,
In ke darmiyaan kya hai,
Tum na jaan pao ge..
