Rang tha roshni tha qaamat tha,

Rang tha roshni tha qaamat tha,
Jis pe hum mar mitte qayaamat tha,
Khush-jamaalon main dhoom thi apni,
Naam uss ka bi wajah-e-shohrat tha,
Paas-e-awaargi humen bhi bohat,
Us ko bhi aitraaf-e-wehshat tha,
Hum bhi takraar ke na they huugar,
Woh bhi na-aashnaaye hujjat tha,
Khawb tabeer ban ke aaye they,
Kya ajjab mausam-e-rafaaqat tha,
Apne lehje ka baank-pan saara,
Us ke pindaar ki amaanat tha,
Us ke kundan badan ka roop saruup,
Hussn-e-ehsaas ki badolat tha,
Aik ik saans qurbaton ka gawaah,
Har nafss lamhaa ghaneemat tha,
Aur phir yuun hua ke toot geya,
Woh jo ik rishtaa mohabba tha..
