Phool pay dhool babol pay shabnam daiknay walay daikta ja

پھول پہ دھول ببول پہ شبنم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا
اب ہے یہی انصاف کا عالم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

پروانوں کی راکھ اڑا دی باد سحر کے جھونکوں نے
شمع بنی ہے پیکر ماتم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

جام بہ جام لگی ہیں مہریں مے خانوں پر پہرے ہیں
روتی ہے برسات چھما چھم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

اس نگری کے راج دلارے ایک طرح کب رہتے ہیں
ڈھلتے سائے بدلتے موسم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

مصلحتوں کی دھول جمی ہے اکھڑے اکھڑے قدموں پر
جھجک جھجک کر اڑتے پرچم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

ایک پرانا مدفن جس میں دفن ہیں لاکھوں امیدیں
چھلنی چھلنی سینۂ آدم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

ایک ترا ہی دل نہیں گھائل درد کے مارے اور بھی ہیں
کچھ اپنا کچھ دنیا کا غم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا

کم نظروں کی اس دنیا میں دیر بھی ہے اندھیر بھی ہے
پتھرایا ہر دیدۂ پر نم دیکھنے والے دیکھتا جا
