Maikada tha chaandni thi main na tha,

Maikada tha chaandni thi main na tha,
ek mujassam bekhudi thi main na tha.

Ishq jab dum todta tha tum na the,
maut jab sar dhun rahi thi main na tha.

Toor par chheda tha jis ne aap ko,
woh meri deewaangi thi main na tha.

Woh haseen baitha tha jab mere qareeb,
lazzat-e-hum-saayegi thi main na tha.

Maikade ke mod par rukti hui,
muddaton ki teeshnagi thi main na tha.

Main aur ghuncha-dahan ki aarzoo,
aarzoo ki saadgi thi main na tha.

Gesuon ke saaye mein aaraam-kash,
sar-barahna zindagi thi main na tha.

Dair-o-kaaba mein ‘adam hairat-farosh
do jahaan ki badzani thi main na tha. !!
