Labon pe phool khiltay hain kisi

Labon pe phool khiltay hain kisi ke naam se pahle
dilon ke deep jalte hain charagh-e shaam se pahle

kabhi manzar badalne par bhi qissa chal nahin pata
kahani khatam hoti hai kabhi anjaam se pahle

yahi taare tumhaari aankh ki chilman mein rehte the
yahi sooraj nikalta thaa tumhare baam se pahle

hui hai shaam jungle main parinde laut.te honge
ab in ko kis tarah rokain nawaah-e-daam se pahle

ya saare rang murdaa the tumhaari shakl banne tak
ya saare harf muhmal the tumhaare naam se pahle

huaa hai wo agar munsif tou Amjad ihtiyataN ham
sazaa tasleem karte hain kisi ilzam se pahle
