Kahan tak jafaa husn walon ki sehtay,

Kahan tak jafaa husn walon ki sehtay,
Jawani jo rehti to phir hum na rehte,
Lahuu tha tamanna ka ansuu nahin thay,
Bahaye na jaate to hargiz na behtay,
Wafaa bhi na hota to acha tha wada,
Gharri do gharri to kabhi shaad rehtay,
Main jagoon ga kab tak woh soyen ge taa-kay,
Kabhi cheekh uthoon ga gham sehtay sehtay,
Bataate hain ansuu ke ab dil nahin hai,
Jo paani na hota to dariyaa na behtay,
Zamaana barre shauq se sun raha tha,
Hameen so gaye daastaan kehtay kehtay,
Koi naqsh aur koi deewaar samjha,
Zamaana hua mujh ko chup rehtay rehtay,
Meri naao is gham ke dariyaa main saqib,
Kinaaray pe aa hi lagi behtay behtay..
