Kabhi kisi ko mukammal jahan nahin milta,

Kabhi kisi ko mukammal jahan nahin milta,
Kahin zameen nahin milti kahin aasman nahin milta,
Tamaam sheher main aesa nahin ke khuloos na ho,
Jahan umeed ho uss ki wahan nahin milta,
Kahan chiraagh jalaayen kahan gulaab rakhen,
Chatain to milti hain lekin makaan nahin milta,
Yeh kya azaab hai sab apne aap main gum hain,
Zubaan mili hai magar hum-zubaan nahin milta,
Chiraag jalte hain beenaayi bujhne lagti hai,
Khud apne ghar main hi ghar ka nishaan nahin milta..
