kaash ik aisi shab aae jab tu ho pehlu meiN

کاش اک ایسی شب آئے جب تُو ہو پہلو میں

سانسیں سانسوں میں مل جائیں، آنسو آنسو میں



یاد کی لَو سے آئینے کا چہرہ ہو پُرنور

نہا رہی ہو رات کی رانی خواب کی خوشبو میں



نیند مری لے کر چلتی ہے شام ڈھلے، اور پھر

رات الجھ کر رہ جاتی ہے اُس کے گیسو میں



رہے ہمارے ہونٹوں پر اک نام کا دن بھر ورد

شب بھر دل کی رحل پہ رکھا اک چہرہ چومیں



آپ اپنی ہی ضَو سے جگمگ کرنا ساری رات

دھڑک رہا ہو جیسے میرا دل اِس جگنو میں



بولتے رہنا ہنستے رہنا بے مقصد بے بات

جیسے دل آہی جائے گا میرے قابو میں



ویسے تو اکثر ہوتا تھا ہلکا، میٹھا درد

اب تو جیسے آگ بھری ہو یاد کے چاقو میں



ایک دعا تھی جس نے بخشی حرف کو یہ تاثیر

یہ تاثیر کہاں ہوتی ہے جادو وادو میں



جب مجھ کو بھی آجائے گا چلنا وقت کے ساتھ

آجائے گی کچھ تبدیلی میری بھی خُو میں



تم کیا سمجھو تم کیا جانو کون ہوں میں کیا ہوں

وہ اقلیم الگ ہے جس میں ہیں میری دھومیں



قحط ِ سماعت کے عالم میں یہی ہے اک تدبیر

خود ہی شعر کہیں اور خود ہی پڑھ پڑھ کر جھومیں



لوگ ہمیں سمجھیں تو سمجھیں بے حرف و بے صوت

ہم شامل تو ہو نہیں سکتے ہیں اِس ہا ہُو میں



جن کے گھر ہوتے ہیں وہ گھر جاتے ہیں عرفان

آپ بھی شب بھر مت ایسے ان سڑکوں پر گھومیں
