Harf lafzoN ki taraf lafz ma’aani ki taraf

Harf lafzoN ki taraf lafz ma’aani ki taraf
Laut aaye sabhi kirdaar kahaani ki taraf

Hosh kho baitha tha maiN zardi e jaaN se aur phir
Ik hawaa aayi uRaa le gayi paani ki taraf

Pahle misre meiN tujhe soch liya ho jisne
Jana paRtaa hai use misra e saani ki taraf

Dil meiN ik shakhs ki ummid ka marna tha ki bas
DhaRkaneiN khiNchne lagiN marsiya-khaani ki taraf

Chashm e veeraaN ko baharhaal khushi hai iski
Khaab raaghib to hue naql e makaani ki taraf

Jab fizaa uske badan-rang ki ho jaayegi
Ghaur se dekhenge ham apni jawaani ki taraf

Ham to ik umr hui apni taraf aa bhi chuke
Aur dil hai ki usi dushman e jaani ki taraf

Us se kahnaa ki dhuaaN dekhne laayaq hogaa
Aag pahne hue jaaoonga maiN paani ki taraf

Dil wo dariya hai mire seena e khaali meiN k ab
Dhyaan jata hi nahiN jiski rawaani ki taraf

Uthne lagti hai mire jism se ik boo e firaaq
Raat dekhooN jo kabhi raat ki raani ki taraf
