Hamare khat main neya ik salaam kis ka tha,

Hamare khat main neya ik salaam kis ka tha,
Na tha raqeeb to aakhir woh naam kis ka tha,
Woh qatl kar ke mujhe har kisi se puchte hain,
Yeh kaam kis ne kiya hai yeh kaam kis ka tha,
Wafa karen ge nibhayen ge baat maanen ge,
Tumhen bhi yaad hai kuch yeh kalaam kis ka tha,
Raha na dil main woh bedard aur dard raha,
Muqeem kaun hua hai maqaam kis ka tha,
Naa puch-gachh thi kisi ki wahan na aao-bhagat,
Tumhari bazam main kal ehtimaam kis ka tha,
Hamare khat ke to purze kiye parrha bhi nahin,
Suna jo tu ne ba-dil woh payaam kis ka tha,
Guzar geya woh zamana kahoon to kis se kahoon,
Khayaal dil ko mere subh-o-shaam kis ka tha,
Har ik se kehte hain kya “dagh” bewafa nikla,
Yeh puche un se koi woh ghulaam kis ka tha..
