HALAT-E-HAAL KE SABA..

Halat-e-haal ke sabab halat-e-haal hi gayi,
Shauq main kuch nahin geya shauq ki zindagi gayi,

Tera firaaq jan-e-jan aish tha kya mere liye,
Yaani tere firaaq main khoob sharab pee gayi,

Tere visaal ke liye apne kamaal ke liye,
Halat-e-haal dil ke thi kharaab aur kharaab ki gayi,

Us ki umeed-e-naaz ka hum se yeh maan tha ke aap,
Umar guzaar dijiye umar guzaar di gayi,

Ek hi haadsa to hai aur woh ke aaj tak,
Baat nahin kahi gayi baat nahin suni gayi,

Baad main tere jan-e-jan dil main raha ajab samaan,
Yaad rahi teri yahan phir teri yaad bhi gayi,

Us ke badan ko numuud hum ne sukhan main aur phir,
Us ke badan ke vaastay aik qabaa bhi see gayi,

Mina-ba-mina maiy-ba-maiy jam-ba-jam jam-ba-jam,
Naf piyaale ki teri yaad ajab sahi gayi,

Kehni hai mujh ko ek baat aap se yaani aap se,
Aap ke shehere-vassl main lazzat-e-hijar bhi gayi,

Sehn-e-khayal -e-yaar main ki na bassar shab-e-firaq,
Jab se woh chaand na geya jab se woh chaandni gayi..
