Hai bas-ki har ek un ke ishaare mein nishaan aur,

Hai bas-ki har ek un ke ishaare mein nishaan aur,
karte hain mohabbat toh guzarta hai gumaan aur.

Ya rab woh na samjhe hain na samjhenge meri baat,
de aur dil un ko jo naa de mujh ko zubaan aur.

Abru se hai kya uss nigaah-e-naaz ko paivand,
hai teer muqarrar magar iss ki hai kamaan aur.

Tum shehar mein ho toh humein kya ghum jab uthenge,
le aayenge baazaar se ja kar dil-o-jaan aur.

Har-chand subuk-dast hue but-shikani mein,
hum hain toh abhi raah mein hai sang-e-giraan aur.

Hai khoon-e-jigar josh mein dil khol ke rota,
hote kayi deeda-e-khun-naaba-fishaan aur.

Marta hun iss aawaaz pe har chand sar ud jaaye,
jallaad ko lekin woh kahe jaayen ki haan aur.

logon ko hai khurshid-e-jahan-taab ka dhoka,
har roz dikhaata hun main ek daagh-e-nihaan aur.

Leta na agar dil tumhen deta koi dum chain,
karta jo na marta koi din aah-o-fughaan aur.

Paate nahin jab raah to chadh jaate hain naale,
rukti hai meri taba toh hoti hai rawaan aur.

Hain aur bhi duniya mein sukhan-war bahut achchhe,
kehte hain ki ‘ghalib’ ka hai andaaz-e-bayaan aur. !!
