حال کُھلتا نہیں جبینوں سے
رنج اُٹھائے ہیں کن قرینوں سے

رات آہستہ گام اُتری ہے
درد کے ماہتاب زینوں سے

ہم نے سوچا نہ اُس نے جانا ہے
دل بھی ہوتے ہیں آبگینوں سے

کون لے گا شرارِ جاں کا حساب
دشتِ امروز کے دفینوں سے

تو نے مژگاں اُٹھا کے دیکھا بھی
شہر خالی نہ تھا مکینوں سے

آشنا آشنا پیام آئے
اجنبی اجنبی زمینوں سے

جی کو آرام آ گیا ہے اداؔ
