Girte hain log garmi-e bazaar dekh kar,

Girte hain log garmi-e bazaar dekh kar,
sarkaar dekh kar meri sarkaar dekh kar.

Aawaargi ka shouk bhadakta hai aur bhi,
teri gali ka saaya-e deewaar dekh kar.

Taskin-e dil ki ek hi tadbeer hai faqat,
sar phod leejiye koi deewaar dekh kar.

Hum bhi gaye hain hosh se saaqi kabhi kabhi,
lekin teri nighaah ke atwaar dekh kar.

Kya mushtaqil ilaaj kiya dil ke dard ka,
woh muskura diye mujhe beemar dekh kar.

Dekha kisi ki simt toh kya ho gaya ‘Adam
chalte hain raah-rau sar-e bazaar dekh kar. !!
