Ganwayi kis tamanna main zindagi main ne,
Woh kaun hai jise dekha nahin kabhi main ne,

Tera khayal to hai pr tera wajood nahin,
Tere liye to yeh mehfil sajaayi main ne,

Tere adam ko gavaara na tha wajood mera,
So apni bekh-kanni main kammi na ki main ne,

Hai meri zaat se mansuub sadd-fasaaana-e-ishqq,
Aur ek satar bhi ab tak nahin likhi main ne,

Khud apne ishvaa-o-andaaz ka shahid hoon main,
Khud apni zaat se barti hai be-rukhi main ne,

Mere hareef meri yakka-taziyon pe nisaar,
Tamaam umar haleefon se jangg ki main ne,

Kharashh-e-naghmaa se seena chhila hua hai mera,
Fughaan ki tark na ki naghma-parvari main ne,

Davaa se fayeda maqsuud tha hi kab ke faqat,
Davaa ke shauq main sehat tabaah ki main ne,

Zabaana-zan tha jigarr-sozz tishnagi ka azaab,
So jauf-e-seena mein unddail li main ne,

Suruur-e-maii pe bhi ghalib raha shaoor mera,
Ki har riyayet-e-ghamm zehn main rakhi main ne,

Gham-e-shaoor koi damm to mujh ko mohlat de,
Tamaam umar jalaya hai apna jee main ne,

Ilaaj yeh hai ke majboor kar diya jaaon,
Wagarna yuun to kisi ki nahin suni main ne,

Raha main shahid-e-tanhaaa nashinn-e-masnadd-e-gham,
