ek samundar ek kinara ek sitara kafi hai

ek samundar ek kinara ek sitara kafi hai
is manzar mein us ke alawa koi akela kafi hai

dene wala jholiyan bhar bhar deta hai to us ka karam
lene wale kab kahte hain data itna kafi hai

ek ghalat-andaz nazar se gulshan gulshan dagh jalen
shabnam shabnam rulwane ko ek hi jumla kafi hai

KHushk labon par pyas sajae bahr-e-asham nahin hain hum
hum jaison ko tishna-labi mein ek hi dariya kafi hai

ab to aur bhi duniyaen hain muntazir-e-arbab-e-hawas
un logon ka qaul nahin hai hum ko ye duniya kafi hai

shahr-e-wafa se dasht-e-junun tak chahe jitne marahil hun
wahshat ke to dusre ruKH par ek daricha kafi hai

husn-e-suKHan baqi rakhne ko kuchh ibham zaruri hai
kahte kahte ruk jaane mein hai jo ishaara kafi hai

us ke afsun us ke fasane donon ko mashur rakhen
aql-o-junun ki dahlizon par KHwab ka pahra kafi hai

ek sabha dil walon ki ek tan rasile logon ki
shahr ke raushan rakhne ko itna sa ujala kafi hai
