donon ko ek adaa mein razamand kar gayi.

Shaq ho gaya hai seena khusha lazzat-e-faraagh,
takleef-e-parda-daari-e-zakhm-e-jigar gayi.

Woh baada-e-shabaana ki sarmastiyaan kahan,
uthiye bas ab ki lazzat-e-khwaab-e-sehar gayi.

Udti phire hai khaak meri ku-e-yaar mein,
baare ab aey hawa hawas-e-baal-o-par gayi.

Dekho toh dil farebi-e-andaaz-e-naqsh-e-paa,
mauj-e-khiraam-e-yaar bhi kya gul katar gayi.

Har bul-hawas ne husn-parasti shi.aar ki,
ab aabroo-e-shewa-e-ahl-e-nazar gayi.

Nazzare ne bhi kaam kiya waan naqaab ka,
masti se har nigaah tere rukh par bikhar gayi.

Farda-o-di ka tafraqa yak baar mit gaya,
kal tum gaye ki hum pe qayaamat guzar gayi.

Maara zamaane ne ‘asadullaah khan’ tumhen,
woh walwale kahan woh jawaani kidhar gayi. !!
