Dard se mere hai tujh ko beqaraari haaye haaye,

Dard se mere hai tujh ko beqaraari haaye haaye,
kya hui zaalim teri ghafalat-shiaari haaye haaye.

Tere dil mein gar na tha aashob-e-ghum ka hausala,
tune phir kyon ki thi meri ghum-gusaari haaye haaye.

Kyon meri ghum-khwaargi ka thujh ko aaya tha khyaal,
dushmani apani thi meri dost-daari haaye haaye.

Umar bhar ka tune paimaan-e-wafa baandha toh kya,
umar ko bhi toh nahin hai paayedaari haaye haaye.

Zehar lagti hai mujhe aab-o-hawa-e-zindagi,
Yaani tujh se thi ise na-saazgaari haaye haaye.

Ghulfeshaani haaye naaz-e-jalwa ko kya ho gaya,
khaak par hoti hai teri laala-kaari haaye haaye.

Sharm-e-ruswaayi se jaa chhupna naqaab-e-khaak mein,
khatm hai ulfat ki tujh par parda-daari haaye haaye.

Khaak mein naamoos-e-paimaan-e-muhabbat mil gayi,
uth gayi duniya se raah-o-rasm-e-yaari haaye haaye.

Haath hi tegh-aazmaa ka kaam se jaata raha,
dil pe ek lagne na paaya zakhm-e-kaari haaye haaye.

Kis tarah kaate koi shab-haaye-taar-eh-barshigaal,
hai nazar khoo-karda-e-akhtar-shumaari haaye haaye.

Gosh mahjoor-e-payaam-o-chashm mahroom-e-jamaal,
ek dil tis par ye naa-ummeed-waari haaye haaye.

Ishq ne pakda na tha ‘ghalib’ abhi wehshat ka rang,
rah gaya tha dil mein jo kuchh zauq-e-khaari haaye haaye.

Gar museebat thi toh ghurbat mein utha lete ‘asad’
meri dehli hi mein honi thi ye khwaari haaye haaye. !!
