Bituminous? - Poem by Shel Silverstein

The hard coal's called bituminous,
Or is that anthracite?
Stalactites grow down from caves,
Or do I mean stalagmites?
Those fluffy clounds are nimbus -
No - wait - they might be cumulus.
And that kid who was raised by wolves -
Was he Remus - or Romulus?
The brothauruses ate no meat.
Does that mean they're carnivorous?
Or were they brontosauruses
And were they herbivorous?
A camel is a pachyderm -
Or do I mean dromedary?
Is this match inflammable?
I thought it was incendiary.
Octagons - no hexagons -
No, heptagons have seven sides.
And don't spray fruit with pesticides -
Or do I mean insecticides?
If I can see right through a thing,
Is it transparent - or translucent?
These are just some of the things
I find confusing...or confuscent.

Duniya Ki Mehfilon Se Uktaa Gya Hoon Ya Rabb
Kya Lutf Anjuman Ka, Jab Dil Hi Bujh Gya Ho?

Shoris

As the ambitious sculptor, tireless, lifts
Chisel and hammer to the block at hand,
Before my half-

Hazaron Khawab Aankhon Me
Saja Kar Kuch Nahi Milta...

Yeh fakhar to haasil hai buray hain ke bhalay hain,
Do chaar qadam hum bhi tere saath chale hain..

aap ki yaad aati rahi raat bhar
chandni dil dukhati rahi raat bhar
gah jalti hui gah bujhti hui

Khud Ko Chuntay Hue Din Sara Guzar Jata Hai Faraz

Phir Hawa Shaam Ki Chalti Hai To Bikhar Jata Hu

Udaas shamon me lot kr wo aana bhol jata tha,
Kr k khafa mujhko manana bhol jata tha,

Inhi aadit

Barri Pathar Dil Thi Wo TiTli Numa Larrki...

KaL JiS PhoOl Pe BaiThi AaJ MurJhaYa HOa Hy...

Tumhara Pyaar Mere Chaar Suu Abhi Tak Hai
Koi Hisaar Mere Chaar Suu Abhi Tak Hai
Bichartay Waqt Jo

عجب ہے رنگ ِ چمن، جا بجا اُداسی ہے

مہک اُداسی ہے، باد ِ

FOR woman due allowance make!

Form'd of a crooked rib was she,--

By Heaven she could not strai

Talakh Itni Thi K Peeny Se Zubaan Jalti Thi

Zindagi Aankh K Paani Me Mila Li Mene...

Aik chand tanha khara raha
Mere asmaan se zara prey

Mere sath sath safar mai tha
Meri manzilon

Ashk Girtey Hain meri Sans sanbhal Jati Hai
De K Ek Dard Naya Shaam nikal Jati Hai

Tujh Ko dekho

Ab aur kya kisi se maraasim barrhayein hum,
Yeh bhi bohut hai, tujhe bhool jayen hum,
Sehra-e-zind

In the rapture of life and of living,
I lift up my head and rejoice,
And I thank the great Giver

Aj taweel nahi bass mukhtasar suno...

Mosam haseen hy Lekin Tmhare Jaisa Nahi...

Niklo Ge To Har Morr Pe Mil Jayngi Laashein
Dhoondo Ge to Is Shehar Mein Qatil Na Mile Ga…

Wo To Khushboo Hai Hawaon Main Bikhar Jaiga
Masla Phool Ka Hai Phool Kidhar Jaiga

Ham To Samjhe

Tum na maano magar haqeeqat hai,
Ishq insaan ki zaroorat hai,
Kuch to dil mubtilaa -e- wehshat hai
