Tez thi itni ke saara sheher suuna kar gayi,
Dair tak baitha raha main uss havaa ke samne,
Raat ik ujrre makaan pr jaa ke jab awaz di,
Goonj uthe baam-o-dar meri sadaa ke saamne,
Woh rangeela haath mere dil pe aur uss ki mehak,
Shaam-e-dil bujh si gayi rang-e-hinaa ke saamne,
Main to uss ko dekhte hi jaise pathar ka ho geya,
Baat tak muun se na niklii bewafa ke saamne,
