Ajeeb khawhish hai sheher walon se chup chupa kar kitab likhoon,

Ajeeb khawhish hai sheher walon se chup chupa kar kitab likhoon,
Tumhare naam apni zindagi ki kitaab ka intisaab likhoon,
Woh lamha kitna ajeeb tha jab hamari aankhen gale mili theen,
Main kis tarah ab mohabbaton ki shikastagi ka azaab likhoon,
Tumhi ne mere ujaarr raston pe khawhishon ke diye jalaaye,
Tumhi ne chaaha tha khushhk honton se chahton ke gulaab likhoon,
Kabhi woh din they ke neend aankhon ki sarhadon se pare pare thi,
Magar ab jab bhi sona chaahon tumhari yaadon ke khawb likhoon,
Main tanha larrki dayaar -e-shab main jalaaon sach ke diye kahan tak,
Siyaah-kaaron ki saltanat me main kis tarah aftaab likhoon,
Qayaadton ke junoon main jin ke qadam lahuu se range huye hain,
Yeh mere bass main nahin hai ke logo ko izzat-maab likhoon,
Yehi bohat hai ke in labon ko sadaa se mehroom kar ke rakh doon,
Magar yeh kesi musaalahat hai samandron ko saraab likhoon..
