Aayinon main akss na hon to hairat rehti hai,

Aayinon main akss na hon to hairat rehti hai,
Jaise khaali ankhon main bhi vehshat rehti hai,
Har dum duniya ke hungaame ghere rakhte they,
Jab se tere dheyaan lage hain furssat rehti hai,
Karni hai to khul ke karo inkaar-e-wafaa ki baat,
Baat adhuri reh jaaye to hasrat rehti hai,
Sheher-e-sukhan main aisa kuch kar izzat ban jaye,
Sab kuch mitti ho jata hai izzat rehti hai,
Saaye larazzte rehte hain shehron ki galiyon main,
Rehte they insaan jahan ab dehshat rehti hai,
Mausam koi khushbuu le kar aate jaate hain,
Kya kya hum ko raat gaye tak vehshat rehti hai,
Dheyaan main mela sa lagta hai beeti yaadon ka,
Aksar us ke gham se dil ko sohbat rehti hai,
Phoolon ki takhti par jaise rangon ki tehreer,
Loh-e-sukhan pr aese “amjad” shohrat rehti hai..
