Aaye hain ‘meer’ kaafir ho kar khuda ke ghar mein,

Aaye hain ‘meer’ kaafir ho kar khuda ke ghar mein,
peshaani par hai qashqa zunnaar hai kamar mein.

Naazuk badan hai kitna woh shokh-chashm dilbar,
jaan uss ke tan ke aage aati nahin nazar mein.

Seene mein teer uss ke toote hain be-nihaayat,
suraakh pad gaye hain saare mere jigar mein.

Aainda shaam ko hum roya kudha karenge,
mutlaq asar na dekha naalidan-e-sehar mein.

Be-sudh pada rahun hun uss mast-e-naaz bin main,
aata hai hosh mujh ko ab toh pehar pehar mein.

Seerat se guftugu hai kya motabar hai soorat,
hai ek sookhi lakdi jo bu na ho agar mein.

Hum-saaya-e-mughaan mein muddat se hun chunaanche,
ek sheera-khaane ki hai deewar mere ghar mein.

Ab subh-o-shaam shaayad girye pe rang aave,
rehta hai kuchh jhamakta khunaab chashm-e-tar mein.

Aalam mein aab-o-gil ke kyonkar nibaah hoga,
asbaab gir pada hai saara mera safar mein. !!
