Aap ki aankh se gehra hai meri rooh ka zakhm,

Aap ki aankh se gehra hai meri rooh ka zakhm,
aap kya soch sakenge meri tanhai ko.
Main toh dum tod raha tha magar afsurda-hayaat,
khud chali aayi meri housla-afzaai ko.
Lazzat-e ghum ke siwa teri nighaahon ke baghair,
kaun samjha hai mere zakhm ki gehraai ko.
Main badhaunga teri shohrat-e khushbu ka nikhaar,
tu dua de mere afsaana-e ruswaai ko.
Woh toh yun kahiye ki ek qaus-e quzah* phail gayi,
warna main bhool gaya tha teri angdaai ko. !!
