How to PTA block a stolen or snatched mobile? 

With PTA, how do you prevent your stolen or grabbed phone from being unlocked? It is possible to file a complaint with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority if your mobile phone is stolen or snatched (PTA).

Complaints can be made using the following methods.

Visit the PAT headquarters or the nearest zonal office and email PTA at: imei@pta.gov.pk.

Call the PTA's helpdesk at 0800-25625 if you need assistance.

CPLC helplines: 1102, 021-35662222, and 021-35662222 can also be contacted by the complainant to lodge a complaint. 

What Should I Offer?

  • All of the stolen or lost phone's IMEI numbers
  • Number of a stolen or misplaced mobile phone
  • Brand/model/colour
  • Name and date of the incident
  • Name of father/mother; address; telephone number

How can I know if my phone is on?

An update on the blocking status is available after 16 working hours.

The following methods allow you to keep tabs on the situation.

SMS

send an IMEI of 15 digits to the website 8484

visit pta.org/web/download/android/

Using an Android app, you may check the status of your device (DVS)

As soon as the IMEI search is banned, the following status will appear:

It has been reported to PTA as stolen, lost, or misused, and your mobile device (IMEI #) has been blocked.

Only the barring of phone calls is part of PTA's mandate.

Local police may be contacted to assist in locating a stolen phone.

Legal action will be taken against anyone who commit false reporting.
